near my town there's a smaller town which had a beautiful forest behind it
look at what they did to it

the upper pic it's it before the deforestation
the lower it's the one after it

they did that with the excuse of "removing tree branches that fell on the river"
and instead of doing that they brought scrapers, chainsaws and destroyed everything....
it's something really awful i sure hope nothing like this ever happens to you and your whereabouts if you are close to such a beautiful place.

Human intervention in nature is a sad sight to behold, but if man has no use for it, nature will take it back. All will recover eventually.

Wow that's really sad...
What was the actual purpose of doing that anyway?

the point is, that is where me and my best buddy used to hang out during summer! hell we even talked about setting up a tent there and camping for a night or two...
you know what angers me the most? it was done with the state money, with tax money!!
and it was the civil protection that did it! why did they not refuse to do it? why DID THEY DO IT? theese are all questions everyone is asking but they are refusing to answer!
they did it all in 1 day the 24 of march without almost anyone else knowing it.
And the few persons that knew they were doing that tought they were doing something good by removing the tree branches that fell on the river...

They must have had a good reason to do it, they could have been low on resources such as wood and they probably decided it was best for that small sacrifice to maintain their business.
I know I would complain when we ran out of tissue or timber, but yet we don't want forests to be destroyed, where else would they get wood?

no zaraki, it is a natural park: strictly forbidden to even forget a bottle of water somewhere, they didn't have the authorization of doing it.
they should have removed infesting plants (those that kill old trees by growing on them) and branches that fell off the trees.
that is what officially they should have done - even written in the local newspaper.

and instead this is what they did

(ah they talk in an italian dialect in the video and the written things are in italian)
they cut down trees old more than 40 years instead!
also all the cut down trees were left there as you might see at the end of video so it was totally POINTLESS!
one more thing: living tree roots make the terrain more stable and prevent the risk of the river flooding and causing landslide on the near mountain.
aka they made the place more DANGEROUS.
this sunday on that town's only square (which is not really square, more like a triangle... but i'm digressing) there's an official protest and i'm definetly going there.
