hi, i just got version 1.0rc7 after asking about mugen on another sire here is a link http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=115543.0

i got started quite easy and have a few chars and a background running fine with sound, but still have a few questions as i am very eager to build up a decent collection.

1) i can only see a slot for 12 chars and would like to expand this as much as possible

2) i need add-ons explaining and a guide to using them

3) really finding it a pain to find a good site with a collection of chars mortal kombat streetfighter KOF familey guy dragon balls simpsons and so on.

4) unsure what to do with installer packages..(usually come when i get a char zip file)

thanks for reading hope you can help i hope to be more regular on this site as i think mugen is a fantastic idea and have being meaning to start using it for a very long time..

2 more questions maybe something i will never be able to do but,
when i get the hang of the above as i said im very eager and inpatient lol

A) i would lik eot learn how to make my own chars
cool can i make myself a into a char??

i`m not lazy i`m thinking

it is easy like a piece of cake
1 to get moreslots you can add a new screenpack to your mugen or can increase the numbers by editing the system .def file
2 this web is best to get all the characters you want it is under the best buy
3 you can create your character and count on us for help becasue me and my bro log in most of the time so need to worry
4 there is a collection of rare st and mt character
if you wanna screenpack tell me i can give you the link to the screenpack which is alredily added to the mugen and have 600 slots it is private

okayit is easy follow the following steps to do this
1 open up you data folder in the mugen
2 find system.def file
3 now try to find coloumns and rows scrool down slowly so you wont miss it
4 there will be written grops and coloumns change them to your desire wish and the slots will increase
try it and then tell me

---------------------------------------------
;Character select definition
[Select Info]
fadein.time = 10
fadeout.time = 10
; *** NOTICE ***
; Are you trying to add more rows or columns?
; As of MUGEN 1.0, the default motif is defined in data/mugen1/system.def.
; You can also edit mugen.cfg to select the "big" motif.
rows = 10
columns = 10

changed the row and columns and it made no diff

you are using 1.0RC7 a different version of mugen, most probably incompatible with any screenpack of the old versions, characters with old AI systems must be updated to your version too

thought so, how do i update the AI
feel free to link me to a better version to use if you dont mind, i'm sure i can just swap over what iv done so far, i heard there is a 1000 char option on one?

or maybe someones knows if there is a screen pack for 1.0RC7
im just about to look in the other system file to see if i can make more char space

Added (2010-05-05, 2:02 Am)
---------------------------------------------
iv found it its as i said before As of MUGEN 1.0, the default motif is defined in data/mugen1/system.def.
so its just in a different file alltho i now need to resize the screen i was running a smaller window while i read instructions

Added (2010-05-05, 2:09 Am)
---------------------------------------------
i need to adjust the size of the char picture on the selection screen, where is the property fot that

Added (2010-05-05, 2:11 Am)
---------------------------------------------
because when i add more char rows they cover the second player and eventually go off screen does anyone know what to adjust to sort this out?

Added (2010-05-05, 2:12 Am)
---------------------------------------------
so i guess im looking for some kind of variable/adjustment for the char selection screen

Added (2010-05-05, 2:23 Am)
---------------------------------------------
yep that what i need if anyone can help to adjust the size of the char selection windows and the char images in the selection box's just to make it look decent when i add more boxes

Added (2010-05-05, 2:37 Am)
---------------------------------------------
hmm something to do with the portrait settings there at 1,1 i dont know what the other settings are till i keep trying them but thats what i need to do to get the char selection screen size id like

i`m not lazy i`m thinking
