I stopped watching anime a couple of weeks ago, got back to it recently, currently re-watching FMA Brotherhood(greed ;_;) and am planning to catch up on fairy tail soon too.
I think Naruto is bad and stopped being good after the arc where they saved sasuke from the sound 4.
I think One Piece is amazing, however I haven't even watched Thriller Bark.
I think Bleach is garbage.
Trigun is the only anime that has made me sad (wolfwood ;____________;)
Last anime I watched was Gungrave.
Hellsing is amazing.

Anyways,
Legend of the Galactic Space Heroes is the best anime I have watched by far.
Most things that have their origins from Jump are terrible.
The only anime that made me cry was a Ghilbi movie called Grave of the Fireflies.
The last Anime that I watched that was animated in the last year was Nisemonogatari, the plot wasn't that great but it was incredible eye-candy.
The only thing I really forward to from the new Toonami is Cassherns Sins.

| I recently rewatched Elfen Lied. To me that anime is a work of art: it manages to mix up incredible gore and deep emotions.

Perhaps because you merely haven't yet to watch an anime that would make you cry.
Now, I really didn't like Elfen Lied by the fact that the initial mystery of it didn't have any relevance to the plot. I never liked fragmented storylines.
