Obvious ones are ms paint, GIMP or maybe photoshop. But most of the time ppl miss out Adobe Fireworks. It has good stuffs in it too.

    Yeah and also it depends on whether you are editing a sprite or creating it from scratch if editing just well edit and for scratch you need to have

    • Patience
    • A Picture of What you want to sprite
    • A Sprite that is similar to it
    • Try to copy that in your own way
    • then colour it then
    • If It Works Out Enjoy
