My anti-virus picks up MUGEN as a virus sometimes, but it also picks up several other open source or free ware programs as being a virus or a harmful file. I think its just a case of the anti-virus being too protective. If Avast has an exception list, just add the .exe file and continue like normal.

If a few weeks later, your computer is reduced to a wasted heap of junk that barely runs anything, then it really did have a virus and I was really wrong.

Mugen is considered as a keylogger by some avs, because it has to map the computer keys so that you can play.
keyloggers are malwares that map your computer keys to steal your paswords.
Your av must be mixing them up as they both map your computer keys. If you downloaded mugen from this site it is clean, but if you got it somewhere else i can't guarantee your safety.

Comodo also detects MUGEN as a virus, but thats what most Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware applications say.

That is very odd, I played mugen for months with none of that. I have avast. Maybe avast thinks that downloading stages and chars is actually a virus autodownloading? wink

I am epic.
