New Law of Japan, Rp 230 million penalty for illegal downloaders online comic The Japanese government released the new Act which impose penalties for downloaders of illegal content such as online manga which the Act comes into force October 1, 2012. This law states any action to download copyrighted material such as manga online is illegal and will be subject to penalties of up to 2 years imprisonment or a fine of up to 2 million yen (approximately USD 230 million). In addition, online manga content providers included in the category of criminal law and will be dealt with according to law....

That only pertains to people who live in Japan, It does not affect us at all.

After reading the whole main post, I can conclude that all scanlator groups will be in trouble; as well as people who post raws anywhere on the web
