If you're ever in the mood for comedy anime, these could be up your alley: Cromartie High School - The anime is about a school of delinquents that love fighting. Ironically, most of the anime is spent exploring odd classmates like a Robot that's terrible with electronics, a Gorilla who appears to be smarter than its fellow classmates, ans a shirtless man who doesn't even look like he's japanese, a serious badass who really wants to make people laugh, a hi-jacker who pretends to be a student even though he wears a ski mask on his face all the time. The humor can be split between common slapstick to cultural humor that other make not get the first time. Either way it's a real trip to watch.
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei - These series is mostly about dark humor with a few touches of slapstick and cultural humor. The plot and settng is pretty long so I'll just link you to the wiki:

Panty and Stocking - Out of the three mentioned, this one is more action-oriented. It comes from Gainax who always know how to sell it when it comes to combining humor and action. The anime parodies western culture, so you pretty get all the jokes/puns/and references thrown at you.

O n the recent animes I've seen (Based on the image I posted a page back):
Tiger & Bunny: The idea is interesting. Heroism has been completely commericalize with heroes decked out with actual company logos (Usteam, Bandai, Pepsi, Soft Bank, etc.). I've seen three episodes so far, and I'm slowly losing interest.
Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san: Random and bizzarely funny. Akutabe is a detective who summons devils to solve the troubles of his clients. One day, a low class devil Azazel Atsushi is summoned by Akutabe and is used harshly by him and his assistant Rinko.
Toriko: WUT DA FUCK IS DIS GARBAGE? After wathcing the crossover episode with One Piece I can honestly say I hate Toriko's childish personality, and him being the main character I don't think I want to see anymore of Toriko.
Ao no Exorcist (Blue Exorcist): This one screams "Bleach clone". While I wouldn't have a problem with it if its plot doesn't stray from hunting demons, but I have a bad feeling that it's going to get really bad later.
[C]: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control: I can't tell if this some kind of trading card anime or not, but the first episode has me interested. Whether or not it will continue to keep me interested has yet to be seen. (The anime involves money.)
Deadman Wonderland: The opening scene really hooked me in, but I started to get unhooked the very moment they introduce the main female character, and her intro really killed the mood of the scene.
