If you were to just put the name of the char you had w/o extra parameters, would you still be able to randomly battle the in arcade mode? if yes, what is the parameter "stages/mybg.def" for?

Naruto, stages/mybg.def

mybg is just an example. that's the name of the stage's def file. here another example:
Deidara, stages/TrainingArea.def -> This means that when Deidara appears in Arcade, he will always appear with the Training Arena stage.
