Select Second Skin?

Maybe this is a daft question to anyone who knows more about mugen than the average Joe.
But let's say my character is, I dunno, ~Sonic the Hedgehog.
If I select Sonic twice, let's say 2 player uses a green Sonic to part from player 1's Sonic.

Is there anyway you can select the second skin as player 1? (Being the green Sonic or what ever)

it depends on what button you chose with like if you press z instead of a you get a diffrent color

Some chars have 12 "skins", for selecting the other 6 ones you have to hold start while pressing any of the other 6 buttons.
