XFire has a video capture feature that has very minimal overhead while capturing, though it only works on certain games. Might be worth trying and if it doesn't work, you can always go to the xfire forums to ask the addition of video capture support for the next version.

i already have Xfire but it's video coding isn't so good, also it takes away lots of diskspace
notice: last time i tried to use Xfire video capture was a little while ago, i don't know if they made it better

i got camtasia for free, but u have to reinstall every 30 days
