| OK, I am going to make some Sonic 2 stages, cos I saw some Sonic 2 Hacks with colour changes and really liked them.
First, I am making some Chemical Plant stages from the game Sonic 2 from Sega Genesis.
There will be the normal Chemical Plant, and some with modified colours. Can't post images, but I can give you the names:
-Chemical Plant Zone.
-Nuclear Plant Zone (from Sonic 2 XP Hack).
-Genocide Plant Zone(from Sonic 2 Mecha World Hack).
-Toxicity Zone (from Sonic 2 Ultima Hack).
Not the big thing, but I will make these now and later I will start with others (Emerald Hill, Hill Top, maybe Mystic Cave, and Oil Ocean).

Why did they change his name, anyway? It was fine as Robotnik, why did they change it to Eggman?

I can answer that question for I know alot of things about sonic!
They changed his name before first his head looked like a butt so sonic called him "Robuttnik"
then the new way they drew him he looked like an egg so he was called "Eggman"
but his name still is dr. Ivo robotnik.
